MyOptique Group [we operate online retail brands Glasses Direct, Sunglasses Shop] are looking for a Python Engineer to join our Agile Tech Team. We operate with a tech stack that includes Python, Django and RabbitMQ on AWS. We are also bringing AWS Lambda and SQS into this mix.

Our Python specialists support 2 branded websites and all our e-commerce operations, so the role offers a variety of opportunities for development and using new technology. Current projects include containerisation, using Docker, cloud formation and ongoing infrastructure redesign. You will be focusing on interfacing our Python microservices ecosystem with Salesforce. As a business we are continually growing and facing new challenges and we need to ensure that tech keeps up with demand.

Working together as part of our Tech team you will be integral to supporting our mission to improve lives by improving sight – through making eyewear more accessible online.

What you will be doing:

  • Working as an integral member of a Scrum development team
  • Integrating Salesforce with our existing Python stack
  • Building and improving our working systems within our CI/CD environment

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement interfaces in Python to connect our fulfilment platform to an abstraction layer that sits in front of Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Service Cloud
  • Work alongside our DevOps team to build and improve our CI/CD infrastructure


  • Analytical skills and proven experience of solving difficult problems in an SOA focused technical architecture 
  • Passionate about software development
  • Experience in application development
  • Experience developing in Python and Django
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work well with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to learn new technologies and software quickly


  • Experience with Django Rest Framework, sync/async messaging systems
  • DevOps experience
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services
  • Relevant Bachelors’ degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Good understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, TDD, CI, BDD, CD
  • Embrace agile software engineering and strive for continuous improvement


  • Warehouse / delivery eCommerce experience
  • Fulfilment By Amazon API experience
